Riker stopping T&T to focus on Artistic

Boy, a lot of mixed feelings, but in short, my son Riker needed to simplify his life a bit, what with increasing demands at school -- so he had to pick whether to continue doing Artistic gymnastics or T&T, and he picked Artistic.  Frankly, he stands out more at T&T, but he's not medal driven.Of course, anything can change - and one of the reasons we think of the two it makes sense to focus down to Artistic is because, should he change his mind, it'll be much easier to transition back…See More

Cody help!

Okay I give up. I had my cody and now it is gone. I have a meet in 2 weeks. I don't feel close to the skill at all. I feel like I have never done it. I do the back 3/4 fine and then kick and start to tuck only to open up and land on my back. I don't feel afraid anymore more like just stuck and like I cannot physically make it over. So I am curious on how others teach or learn codys from the beginning. Like step by step. We do have a nice throw mat but no one able to spot it. Any help, tricks,…See More

Nationals 2012

I have a friend who needs to sign up for her vacation for the summer now. She noticed that USAG T&T Nationals are listed from July 5 to 11. This is Thursday through Wednesday which is different than the usual Saturday to Friday. Does anyone know if the format will be the same? (optionals in the first half and compulsories in the second half of the week?)See More

An update from Joplin

Posted by Brett Miller on May 23, 2011 at 10:38pm 1 Comment

By now I'm sure most of you have heard of the severe damage and loss of life caused by tornadoes in Joplin, MO. I wish I could say that the T&T community in Joplin - home of our state committee and The Flip Shop - escaped unscathed, but there is one athlete and her father still unaccounted for. (They were apparently at The Home Depot when the tornado came through, destroying the store.)

Please keep them in your thoughts and, if you are so inclined, your prayers in hopes of a… Continue

Region 6 Clinic held 12/4-5

Posted by Dave Bucci on December 6, 2010 at 2:22am 2 Comments

Region 6 just finished holding a clinic this past weekend, hosted by Dynamite Gymnastics in Rockville, MD. I heard the 1st session, Sat afternoon, was way packed, with > 110 athletes ... at sessions 2 & 3, it was a little less packed, and repetitions were easier.

The Elite coaches I noticed leading the events (in no particular order, just who I remember seeing) included Jaroslav & Jarka Novak, Brandon Sloan from Capital Gymnastics, Tatiana Kovaleva from…
